They say that being a parent is the toughest job you'll ever love. We are constantly challenged and tested. I found this to be true the other day when my daughter came to me with a question I wasn't sure how to answer at first, and then remembered that all she needed was a decision. She needed help in defining her choice. I found that once I was clear on my part, she was happy. In business you don't always know the person as you would a family member, or child, nor do you have the luxury of time.
This blog was inspired by my clients who are executives, having to make critical decisions for their companies and board members every day. I realized, that no matter who you are...a mother deciding upon which doctor to take her child to, or a school principal needing to decide how to hire a new teacher. Decisions are not easy. Even with all the facts, making decisions can be tough.
They say, in order to be a good CEO, you have to be able to make decisions. Leaders need to lead with authority and action. It is better to make the wrong decision than no decision at all. I know parents who cannot decide how to discipline their teens, so they don't. Even President Obama must be swift and yet careful in deciding what he wears, says and what actions he takes.
Even with all the right logical information it can be hard. This is where understanding energy and patterns to assist and guide us into what would be the best turn out and support our decisions.
